The Power of Collaboration and the "Lilith English Club”
The power of collaboration is evident in the incredible achievements of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa. Their previous collaborations have resulted in numerous initiatives and programs that aim to promote sustainability goals and empower communities. One of the outstanding participants of these collaborations is Fatema Algasid, a new graduate who attended all of the workshops on starting a small business based on sustainability goals.
Fatema dedicated her efforts on the fourth goal, "Quality Education," and the fifth goal, "Gender Quality," in order to provide a safe environment for females to learn and innovate. She began her mission by creating her own language learning tools to help individuals learn languages more effectively. Her project is named "Lilith Ava Regina," and it symbolizes her resistance to be oppressed. Her club is called "Lilith English Club," and is targeted at improving English in Karbala, Iraq, as she is a native English speaker as well as an American Iraqi.
Fatema displayed her language learning aids at a charity fundraiser event organized at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa. Her products included a TOFEL and IELTS-based Language Learning Handbook, a notecard to assist learners focus better on new vocabulary, and a container carrying QR codes to her educational videos, which help learners practice their listening skills.
The collaboration between UNDP and the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has proven to be a success, thanks to participants like Fatema who are determined to make a positive impact in their communities. We are inspired by Fatema's innovative approach to language learning and look forward to seeing the positive impact of her language learning aids on the community and beyond.
